The LG Twins will face off against the NC Dinos at Changwon NC Park on the 25th.

LG is running first with 65 wins, 2 draws and 38 losses. It is beating 2nd place KT by 7.5 games.

Against NC, LG will start with Hong Chang-ki (right fielder) Shin Min-jae (2nd baseman) Moon Bo-gyeong (3rd baseman) Austin (designated hitter) Oh Ji-hwan (shortstop) Kim Min-seong (1st baseman) Park Dong-won (catcher) Moon Seong-joo (left fielder) Park Hae-min (center fielder). 스포츠토토

Kim Hyun-soo was named as the designated hitter for the first time, but was suddenly excluded because of a bad back. Kim Hyun-soo was removed from the lineup the previous day, and Kim Min-seong was included. Kim Min-seong will play as first baseman, and Austin will be the designated hitter.

Director Yeom Gyeong-yeop said, “Hyeon-soo suddenly had a bad back, so he told me to rest. It’s a lot better in the long run,” he said.

Kim Hyun-soo went to base with a shortstop infield hit after one out in the fourth inning against Lotte in Jamsil the previous day (24th), and when Austin doubled in the middle left, he ran from first base to home and scored the first score with a head first sliding.

Considering Peddy’s pitch, veteran Kim Min-seong is selected for the spot where Kim Hyun-soo is missing. Manager Yeom said, “I think it’s still a bit difficult for Lee Jae-won to attack Peddy. Experience is still… If you appoint a player with a high probability of failure, that player will only experience failure. It has to be given,” he said. Not hiring Lee Jae-won was a consideration against the best ace in the league.

The day before, LG foreign pitcher Kelly recorded a victory against Lotte with 6 scoreless innings. Director Yeom said, “I had a good command, and the angle of the changeup was good, so I didn’t get any hits.”

Kelly’s changeup had a hit rate close to 40% before the game the day before, but in the game against Lotte on the 24th, he threw 8 changeups and didn’t get any hits.

Director Yeom said, “The first thing Kelly cares about most now is control. All the focus was on that. It would be better if the changeup velocity was dropped by 10 km.

Kelly threw 85 pitches through the 6th inning and was replaced 7 times. Coach Yeom explained the quick replacement, saying, “I tried to replace it in good condition. It’s the first scoreless game, and if I raise it 7 times and give 1 or 2 points (throwing well in front), it’s a waste.”

The starting pitcher for LG on this day was Choi Won-tae. He was traded from Kiwoom at the end of July, and has an average ERA of 3.52 with 8 wins and 5 losses this season. Won-tae Choi is the first confrontation with NC this season. Last year, he was strong with an average ERA of 1.73, 3 wins and 5 wins against NC.
